Perspective

What is this world that we see?
What is it behind our skin,
that looks through our eyes,
and makes us feel?

What if I were to reach into me,
and pull this inner spirit out?
And what if I were to replace it,
with that in the body of another.

And I felt what this other body felt,
and saw what this body saw,
and when I walk down the hall,
I would see me,
staring at me through another's eyes.

And what if when I awoke,
back in my body,
I saw the other body,
looking at me through the mirror.

What if when I was born,
I was born in the body of this other,
what if I was in the body of another?
How would things be different?

Everything would change,
the skies would be the limits,
there is no listing what would change,
everything would be completely different.

What if that inner spirit is locked within us,
our own fear its captor,
and what if we were no longer afraid,
and we thought.

And with our spirits,
we took a step back and looked at it all.
Our body talk and interact with other bodies,
all withering away by the minute, as they age.

What if we all took a step back,
and watched the grand theater that is life,
and bore witness to all we do,
ah, what then?
