I Die Inside |
A Child's Sweet Laughter
Why must a child die?
Is God really so cruel as to deprive us of a child's sweet laughter?
Leaving us to mourn long after the Innocent's life has drawn high.
There is nothing worse then such a theft,
To spend many sleepless nights replaying that child's sweet laughter,
Truly it is the very definition of hell,
For 'tis never through, until in your heart only bleakness is left.
It leaves a gaping emptiness in its wake,
The death of a child's sweet laughter,
Its ghostly remains ever playing,
Causing the mortal souls to shatter, and with cries of agony do they break.
To whom is the pain truly inflicted?
The fading of a child's sweet laughter,
For a child suffers only once,
Yet we suffer many deaths, only by this life restricted.
Dogging your footsteps wherever you go,
Is the melody of a child's sweet laughter,
Singing to you in a language unheard,
Yet only a glimpse of heaven man may ever know.
Is it worse to have never known?
The peals of a child's sweet laughter,
To see your memories only through dreams,
Knowing a hauntingly unfamiliar angel is watching over you wherever you go.
Or is it harder to have known and loved,
The sound of a child's sweet laughter,
To have loved the bad times, as well as the good,
To occasionally hear the fading remains of a fading child's sweet laughter.
Is God really so cruel as to deprive us of a child's sweet laughter?
Leaving us to mourn long after the Innocent's life has drawn high.

wow nick, this is deep..there's a lot of thought in it, and a lot of pain. its really hard to understand why God would allow something so terrible to happen, but the important thing to remember is that God is in control, and He knows the ultimate outcome, He has a bigger picture in mind than any of us can see. amazing poem, its really well written and it really takes the reader in to how you feel. and the way you word it makes it really interesting to read, and lets everyone feel your pain. |
