The Caged Me

I am not who you knew,
I have changed more then you think,
I am no longer me,
no longer the little kid i used to be.

My old self that you loved is gone,
my new self is hated by you more then i would like,
you call me a reject now,
I am not a good person in your eyes anymore.

I have left my old self behind,
I have found my real self now,
I will always be a reject to you,
just let me go away.

Let me get away from here,
all there is to be is pain,
I have had enough hurt for now,
enough for a lifetime and more.

You can not hold me here forever,
I am getting older now,
my wings are hurting from the metal bars of my cage,
the cage I try to break free from.

Can you not see the pain,
can you not see the hurt,
is this all a joke to you,
is it that fun to hurt me?

You know this is not fun for me,
you said you love me,
is this love I am feeling now,
or am I just on the wrong side again?

Who are you to judge me,
who are you to think this is ok,
what ever happened to the family I once knew,
where have they gone to and why?

You continue to hold me here,
all you do is laugh at my struggles,
you call yourself a loved one,
but do you really love me?

If you really do love me,
if you really do care,
if you knew what you are doing,
would you ever stop?

Now it must seem weird,
now that I am out of the cage,
now that I have flown away,
now that I have a new home.

You must not know what to do now,
you must be going insane,
now that you have no one to torture,
now that your laughter is gone.

If only you knew my feelings,
if only you could understand,
I hope you find your own way,
now that I am gone.

I have left this cage,
I have gone my own way,
I have made my dreams a reality,
and I am glad to be gone...
