All This Hurt

It's 10:27 pm and I'm sitting here just thinking
About how things happened so fast in so little time.
April 8th 2007 was the day when I met you
When I saw those hazel eyes of yours.

You apologized over and over.
Yet is it ever enough?
Do we fully forgive the ones that hurt us so deep?
Deep enough to scar us?

You promised you'd be around.
For the short time that you were.
I promised I'd love you.
For the long time that I did.

You said I was your sun
Preventing your world from darkening
You were my wall.
Preventing my heart from shattering.

I wonder how you're doing daily
Questioning myself, was I ever good enough for you?
You'll never understand just how much those hurtful words
Struck me so deep and those hot drops of tears that stained my clothes.

I would give so much to be able to talk to you
and ask you only one thing and one thing alone
which is
are you happy?

You left an impression in my mind like a footprint in cement.
You stay lingering around in my memories haunting me till this day.
You say you love me.
But yet those 3 words I've heard so many times.
And so many times they've lied.
