Moments I Live For

I stood atop the hill,

Looking down at the wreckage left below.

I know in time I must turn around

And descend into the blank canvas on the other side.

But I need this moment to reflect.

For amongst the chaos

Lies moments worth the damage done.

My heart holds no regrets,

For I lived each day and welcomed every night,

As my eyes gazed beyond the obvious.

And this, I believe,

Is all that life should be.

I lived for the dreams that lived within me,

And would die with a smile upon my face,

Knowing I've found a truth of my own design.

The world may never agree,

But isn't that the beauty of it all?

I marched through fields of doubt,

And fought for something more than freedom,

More than words.

And now I turn,

And fall from the edge of sensibility,

Into the arms of uncertainty.

Strip me of my name, my credibility, and all else you wish...

It will not haunt me, for I've never been afraid.
