I set fire to a dozen red roses

And tossed in a picture of you and I

To convince myself the time has come.

I'd swallow every tear you cry

And drown in a salty sea

Just to be the bridge in place

Of the past that we've burnt down.

My good intentions are replaced

By selfish regrets that always linger

Somewhere inside my mind,

So I'll set fire to every memory

And leave every ash behind.
