Coward

Views (99) Worry Created on 9-2-07 Flag

I lit another smoke

And crawled into the bottle of memories

Where I let my anxiety go

And replaced it with too much hennessy.

Soon all my worries fade

As my mind is numbed by intoxicants

As the poison makes its way

Into my bloodstream once again.

When I fall asleep I never cry

Or stare at the ceiling for hours

As long as I stay drunk or high,

Ill be the first to admit that Im a coward.

perdylilpyro honestly, this poem holds the potential to be much a much more potent literary piece. meaning- it flows and it pulls in a slow sinking way that every human being can relate to until you happen reach the word 'henessy', it shatters any chance for ambiguity, a chance to read many different things and evoke many different emotions from the same lines. it's good as is, but I do hope you take a look into what you could do if you step more into the abstract. you might just have a knack for it :)

mcihellejane I like the thought of this one-the self exploration. It takes a lot to admit to certain things 'bout yourself... I thought you did a good job!
