That Ole House
Mama was a homemaker and Daddy sold Tv's
counting me they had five kids to raise clothe and feed
Sister was the oldest me & brothers in our teens
long time after we were born
baby sister made girl three
Old house was home playground was the park
We roamed the streets, the neighborhood
mama let us play till dark.
Never was a stranger mama didn't meet,
she warmed them with her soft smile
good coffee conversation
that's my mother very sweet
Twentysix yrs. that ole house held many of our kin
we grew up went away just to return again
Every now and then us kids we do the same
drive to Pensacola left unto Brent Lane
Once more for memory as we are passing by
we are grateful for the life we had
in that Ole House on Woodmere Drive
