One By One |
One By One
Not to far from the bed
near the dresser on a rug
One by One they were collected
where she put them in a jug.
Just an ole penny is how they seemed
Untill mama dumped them on the bed
Then One By One
we started to count them
All those pennies in my head
We both took a gander
What would they total
was anyone's guess
Mama was over I was under
Though we didn't place any bets.
I understood how I was thankful
the time was priceless
our time was fun
As me and mama counted pennies in her bedroom
One By One
