New Shoes
We are not use to each other
Like a pair of new shoes
Have we chose the right color
or would another pair do
Did we carefully consider
the texture the style
Was the price of these shoes
worth the extra mile
Would we wear them a little
then put them away
Did we pick out a pair
we could walk in all day
Do they rattle and clatter
with each step we take
Will the souls in these shoes
cushion the miles that we make
After careful reflection
maybe after some time
The stride will come easy
in these 'new shoes of mine'
