Don't Speak |
Pressure
People talk about her
Act like she's not really there.
And she doesn't want them knowing
The things that she can't share.
Her mother is abusive.
She yells at her all the time.
Her father just sits there
And acts like he doesn't care.
The kids at school just make it worse
When they tell her she's anorexic.
It's not her fault this happened
It's just something she can't control.
She knows that she is different.
So she tries to end her life.
She fails at that too
And now there's no where left to turn.
She feels the walls
Closing in around her.
An escape is all she needs
Too bad she's only 13.
Her sister swears it will get better.
But she knows its all just lies.
How can things get better
For a person like her?
Everyone thinks she cuts
Because of the scars on her arms.
She can't bear to tell them
That all the scars are from IVs.
She just listens and takes it.
They don't really know the truth.
If they did, they wouldn't care.
So she keeps it tucked inside.
Its not her fault she almost died.
Its not her fault she lived.
Its not her fault she can't gain weight.
Its not her fault she has scars.
Nobody cares enough to look down deep
And see the girl she really is.
They only care about what they SEE.
And thats why they add pressure,
To an already depressed life.
They all just laugh and scorne.
And tell her she shouldn't exist.
She doesn't want the attention
So she keeps her most important event a secret.
Then she leaves.
Goes far far away.
People start to care.
But now she can't come back.
All that pressure was too much.
She couldn't stand the pain.
This time she didn't fail.
She took her life away.
