The Good Times Never Last

I've cried my last tears, and told my last lies

I'm putting this all behind me, washing my hands, and wiping my eyes

I can't keep on loving you, in the way that I am

I don't expect you to say anything, I just want you to understand

What we have is through, over with, done, and gone

Because when I tried to do things right, continued to do me wrong

You were always saying you loved me, and for a while, I did believe

But now my eyes are open, and I realize there is no you and me

It hurts me to say this, I'm being honest, it really does

But I can't be a fool for you, or be a sucker for love

If I'm going to be anything, I'll be true to myself

I can do bad with you, and better with somebody else

I don't want your pity, and you can keep your thoughts to yourself

Because when I wanted to talk, you had an excuse, and couldn't be of help

But being who I am, I'll hear you out

Because even though I've been with you, I'm nothing like you, no doubt

I'm done with this pain, and so I'm moving on

I'll always care for u, but no longer are you the one

Please, don't try to make me stay, because your only hurting you

And you know I'm trying to be strong, without being hurt too

But I know that if I want to be happier, I have to leave you with my past

And regardless of what everyone says, the good times never last
