It’s hard to see where some things end and the others begin

Just when you think things are over, a loss turns into a win

I knew there was something when I looked into your eyes

The night our lips followed our thoughts was my biggest surprise

For I had just stepped past the looking glass 

Our boundaries had shifted and this was my first trespass 

There was a rainbow of emotions swelling, tossing, and turning deep inside of this boy

There was excitement, fear, confusion, and happiness, that night they came together into one thing: pure joy

The girl of my dreams was now in front of me; I was holding her in my arms

All it took was one look from you to silence all of my internal alarms

It was a weekend I never wanted to end; I had found my happy place

My instincts had been correct, for it was found in your embrace

Here we are traveling now testing the waters of commitment together

We both know that the water is far too chilly in the section that says forever

But the present is warm and inviting; I find it quite nice

For I have found someone I value far beyond any price

Being with you is an adventure each and every day

Every time I think about you, I fall for you in a new way

Being with you is full of new territory for me, but I am learning and growing bold

Where there was once apprehension there is now pride when I tell others it is you that I want to wake with and hold.

I wish I could tell you that person writing this for you is not nervous now, but a lie would not get us anywhere

You rock his world seven days a week and it would almost seem more than he can bear

Through all of this my heart may beat an extra beat or two

For it beats that much faster because it beats for you.
