chasing purple clouds and magenta stars
waiting for the world to slow down
i cast a glance at what used to be
and how well you're doing without me

i change my clothes, wash off my face
lose all trace of yesterday
when you used to speak of brighter days
and how there's always easier ways

i sleep between the covers at night
avoiding unchartered places
i'm too afraid to take that step
