The One I Loved

Just a few months back when life was great.
The girl I was with, I thought it was fate.
Her eyes glisten in the morning light.
A small kiss on her lips felt so right.
I would wake up early just to see her sleep.
I never wanted to see that face ever weep.
In the turn of times, for several days, I made her cry.
Oh lord forgive me I wanted to die.
Then one dreadful day upon my work was done,
All of her items in the house were forever gone.
Now for what I could possibly do,
For the fear I had now become true.
I was down for months on end,
Without anyone knowing not even a friend.
Time has gone by several months in fact,
My life is still not in tact.
See I saw her yesterday at the bar,
She didn't see me because I stayed pretty far.
There was a new guy by her side.
I couldn't believe this was the girl I wanted to be my bride.
She looked so happy now,
For he did something so right I don't know how.
Oh lord I need your help from up above,
Keep her happy because she was the one I loved.
