I may not be close to perfection
But I do my best to try
Sometimes the words you say to me
Make tears come to my eyes
They may be tears of sadness
Or maybe tears if joy
And as you know very well
My heart is not a toy
I turned every guy down
Saying I'm giving you a chance
To pick up the broken pieces
And put my heart back in its stance
They all say not to trust you
That our love is not real
And that you don't care
That my innocence is what you're trying to steal
But I don't really listen to their words
I only brush them away
Because I have to trust my heart
And hear what it has to say
I want to believe you
I want to understand
That you'll always keep a promise
My faith is that you can
But if it's ever broken
Which it was once before
Don't assume that I will leave you
And walk right out the door
Everyone deserves a second chance
No matter what their deed
To keep the one they love
To keep the one they need
So anybody could call us crazy
For how much that we fight
For the kisses that we share
Or our times late at night
I'd rather fight with you
Than love anyone else
That's how I really feel
I'm sure anyone could tell
So if you give me one last chance
I promise to be the best
I promise to make you happy
And be better than all the rest
There will be broken promises
But I hold this one forever
I promise I'll always love you
Forever and ever and ever...
