Hometown Rain

I love my hometown rain

The sound of it pounding the ground washes away all my pain

It's like a thousand angels singing

I even enjoy the booming of the thunder while swinging

With warm rain running through my hair

With all of my feelings washed away and through the air

The warmth of the hot tar on my feet

Makes all the kids come out to play, like ships in a fleet

The rain here is oh so cold

It makes me sick and freezes my toes

To feel the rain seeping through my clothes

To feel it cleanses my soul
