Dreaming Ends
DREAMING ENDS
Was I meant to live this way,
Living life like it was yesterday,
Running through the hours…
Day after day… aging away my face…
But when I close my eyes,
I picture the world is with me,
And when I close my mind,
It’s like a painting I can see…
But I know my world will never be…
When did pretending become a sin,
Why has my soul made it so hard…
To let the good thoughts in,
Inside my heart is breaking… for today
Dreaming ends…
Do I cry out,
Do I scream,
Do I awaken from this dream?
Do I surrender,
Do I give in,
Do I forgive them in the end?
My questions keep on pounding,
With the beat of my breaking heart…
Since when did living dreams have to be so hard?
But now the truth is clear… and though the world may never care,
My dreaming ends here…. and my soul… becomes a living nightmare.
