moonlit change

Though the night may ehco its sounds,

And though the sun may speak its rays,

It's the moon that makes the difference

Day after day.

It's the thing that should be feared.

It's the heart of so much pain.

And though it may ease the sorrow of most,

It kills ME all the same.

Every time I see it rise above,

It speaks a deadly verse.

It makes the body wretch and moan,

To hear the living curse

Though its happened time before,

And surely will more after.

I pray for a day when the screams will stop,

And be replaced with laughter.

Though you may doubt all you've read,

And some, all you've seen.

Just wait in the night and you will find,

The moon still changes me.
