all this time i was busy blaming you
but now im starting to blame myself
maybe if i would've stayed with you
instead of going with my friends
maybe you would be here.

you ran away
he gave you praise
he loved you
all the things i didn't give you, he gave

i saw the signs
read between all the lines
i could've stopped it
if i would've only took the time

all this time i've been busy blaming it all on you
when the answer's been me all along
maybe if i would've listened to every word that you said
i wouldn't be here, thinking over our last conversation in my head

i was my fault
and that is all
my consequences 
were simply for us to fall

i remember when you asked me what i wanted
and i told you that i wanted you off my back

and i waited a few days before i answered you back
i remember when you asked me how i was
i told you that i would've been better if you got off your ass

every frown
every curse
every fight
it makes this worse
i regret the things that i once said to you
every eyeroll
