If I was there

Yesterday turned into a shade of Grey

Lost my place to stay and learned a friend in Iraq past away

In a moment it all turns sad in a way that my life now is filled with pain

Wasting away in this world of hate it makes me want to go insain

Lost in a blank rage wanting to load a gun and take lives away

I control my hate and find a place to fade

As my mind wonders hoping everything will be ok

If only i was there to take his place I pray for a miracle that i could make a change

Only if i was there to say goodbye my best friend lays his life to fight

Could have made it right saved his life Fought for him with all my might

I would lay beside him with our pride intertwined

Stay true to our saying SEMPER FI

ausjo That's very moving. I felt your pain. I'd be interested in the meaning of that last phrase though.
