Right Where I Am |
still seeking a title
The grass wet beneath my toes
As I step into the morning sun
My dreams came true yesterday
The day you returned home
Baring scars upon your body
Deeper are the ones in your soul
The battles you have faced
Knowledge that remains to me untold
You will not speak to me of these things
You say my ears need not hear
That my soul is too gentle
To know of the blood, the agony and the fear
Just let you to look upon my face
Or speak of happy things your say
But our home was touched by this war too
Suffering loneliness the long time you were away
While you fought upon the battlefield
I fought within myself persistently
The torture of not knowing
I already know of the fear and agony
I beg you to share with me your tales
So that I may help ease your pain
I will let you weep if you must weep
Peace with yourself I wish you to gain
For though you say the battles rest behind you
Your eyes speak of the turmoil you still hold inside
Share with me my love what you feel
You do not alone in this suffering need abide
