broken angel

little jane comes home from school,

she is only 7,

and yet she has to cook her own meals or eat from bins,

while her mum and dad go get bladdered at the pub.

she is on her own as usual but she doesn't care,

because she knows her father will wake her and thrash her,

he makes her wear foundation to cover the bruises for school,

and if anyone asks? she tripped over the dog.

not even her neighbours know her pain,

going through bins,

getting beaten up,

they believe her father's awful lies.

the dog has to share its bed with her as her parents didn't buy her one,

she must wear 3 jumpers to keep warm at night,

as her parents refuse to put the heating on.

in the morning her parents return,

their breath stinking of hooch,

by now her father has beaten her,

and her mother does nothing.

breakfast is leftover bin food for her as her parents go to bed.

now she walks to school,

in pain from the beating,

with no friends to help her,

and no one to listen,

she is totally alone.

she wishes for an angel to take her away and whisk her to heaven for a better life,

she hopes this nightmare will end,

question is.........will it?
