So he left her
' If you love something set it free '
he didn't know if they would meet again,
But he still knew it was meant to be.

So he set off on a journey,
To give her time and space
Weeks turned into months,
But he still could picture her face.

I wonder if she still thinks of us
And how we were before,
I wonder if she seeks me out
Within her dreams or at her door.

I wonder if we will ever have
A moment, an hour, a year
Or will she always be this wrapped up
In the past and in her fear?

Months turned into more months
And he hadn't heard one word,
'Maybe she has forgotten me'
he brushed off this thought as absurd.

So he travelled back to her
Expecting to be welcomed with open arms.
How ever the welcome he met ,was much less pleasant,
And would only do his harm.

He knocked at her door,
Familiar flowers in his hand,
'Open up, I've come back for you!'
he came back to make her understand,
That she really was the only woman.

' Go away you aren't welcome here,
I told you once before to go,
I loved you and you loved me not
I always knew it was so! '

He placed her flowers on the doorstep
' I remembered.. did you?
It would be our anniversary today
and how I wish that this were true!
I loved you then and I love you now
but you are to blind to see,
you say I lied, stop lying to yourself!
You never, not once, loved me....'
