The Journey
I started this journey long ago,
I had no clue where I'd go,
Or even who I'd come to know,
And who might become my foe.
I headed down the dirt road,
Doing everything as I was told,
I thought I was growing old,
But I was just turning cold.
I started seeing familiar things,
"Hey, a year ago, I saw those buildings."
And I recognized my familiar kings,
Who wore their old rings.
I knew I was just lost,
Going in circles at my own cost,
And beginning to freeze in the same winter's frost,
How I hated being lost!
I then saw a black sign.
"This way to Heaven" is what it was on this sign.
The arrow was straight and the sign looked fine,
So that path became mine.
Later, the path split into to two,
One was covered with logs, leaves, and dew,
The other was only covered in footsteps and fresh dew.
And both had a sign for Heaven too.
The clear path's sign was dark like the last,
I knew that path would be a blast.
The other sign was light and looked like it last,
But I couldn't travel it fast.
I took the path covered in logs,
I suffered on it more than the frogs.
I received so many flogs,
That I started to look like the old dogs.
Then I started to get warm,
My king came with a swift swarm.
To the path He was Light,
And the darkness was in fright!
He gave me new life,
And took away my strife!
He became Truth to my heart,
And I had a new start.
I know I I'm not lost anymore,
And now, I'm knocking on Heaven's door.
I had no clue where I'd go,
Or even who I'd come to know,
And who might become my foe.
I headed down the dirt road,
Doing everything as I was told,
