My Son's Death

I was waiting for you,for hours it seems.

You were the perfect son,the one I thought I'd only meet in my dreams.

The day seemed like it'd be normal,like it'd be fine.

There wasn't a worry or care on my mind.

Just sitting there,waiting for you to come home.

As long as I knew you were coming I wasn't alone.

I was sitting on the porch,waiting for you.

I went inside,and heard a knock at the door.

And as I answered,I saw the person,but I didn't know who.

His face seemed dark,full of sadness and fear.

And the moment I looked him in the eyes I knew why he was here.

I ran to my car,stumbling along the way.

I sped down the road,that was full of traffic,and screamed in dismay.

I couldn't just sit there and do nothing.

So I jumped out of my car and I did something.

It'd be hours before I would get there by car,so I started running and I didn't care how far.

I was running forever on the road.

I'd been running so long I felt my heart would explode.

I finally reached the hospital and I rushed my way through.

When I told the nurse who I was here for she said "You might have to wait for a few."

And thats what did,though I was full of worry.

The nurse finally looked at me and noticed I was in a hurry.

She escorted me to the room where my son was,I had my hands on the door.

But the nurse grabbed my hand and said "You can't go in anymore."

All I could do is sit there in shock.

Until at last I heard the door unlock.

I rushed to the doctor,hoping for good news.

When I asked him questions he simply refused.

So I sat there and waited,until at last another doctor appeared.

I asked her what happened,and my eyes filled with tears

As I listened to the doctor confirm my fears.

I made this for my mom,and in dedication of my baby brother.My mom thought he was just an angel and it hurt her so bad when we found out he was gone. I miss you Damien.
