My Heart Is A Grenade Without A Pin

Views (17) Respect Created on 5-4-08 Flag

My heart is a grenade without a pin

So hold on to it tight

Why would you throw it away?

When you can take out all the parts

of the explosives

Examine the powder

Find what makes it tick and

See where the pin hole leads too

Rip it too shreds

Find every detail about it

Have fun

And see what its secrets are

Only one way to find it out

That is to dig and scratch at it a bit

And even try to be

A scientist and pretend

You know how it works

Tell your friends all about it

Show it to them

Teach it to them

Grab and squeeze it like

A suicide running toward to

Your enemies taking them with you

And taking the pieces of the grenade with you

When you toss it in your room

Look at it

Hit your dog with it

Hit your little sibling

Grab it back and yell

Then tell the grenade your secrets

Cause It listens

It listens

So don't be afraid

Hide it under your pillow

Place it between your feet

Cuddle with it

Make it the most important thing ever

Hang it in your room

Turn it into your science project

Take it with you to school

Scare the teachers

And scare the government

And scare the police

It goes everywhere with you

Tape it to your chest and

Keep hugging until your lungs bruise

Squeeze it until your fingers turn purple

Taste it

Sniff it

Touch it

Examine it

Hear it

Listen to it beating

Keep listening the beat that keeps it

Alive

How could something so wrong

Be the best thing to happen to you?

That's why you

Have an epiphany ands

Write a poem and then

After you understand what it is

Will you think about it?

The grenade wants you too

But just hold on to it

Because a grenade without a pin

Is useless to throw away.

Because you can always find a way to play with it

Even though sometimes I want you to stop.
