Why you should be with me

In the beginning, I came to love you

But I couldn’t tell if you loved me too.

I took too long, searching and waiting

Or maybe too fast, when I asked would you date me

But the point is your answer, you didn’t mean to hurt

You said while we were walking

That with a boy you were talking

It turns out I was too late

In my mind resolving the debate

But you said you still liked me

And you’d say yes if you were free.

So I continued on in life

Getting rid of my pain and strife

And all the while I was by your side.

When you got dumped and needed to cry.

By this time, I still loved you so

But I was afraid of another no

I waited, debated and appreciated,

Too long, as another boy you dated.

I don’t know how many boys you went through.

I shouldn’t have waited, I could’ve been number 2

But as the third and fourth went by, all the while

I was the one that made you smile.

Now finally you’re free, but I’m too shy to see

Its my opportunity, to ask you to be with me

It must be coincidence, that you came to me with a kiss

On the same night I watched, the stars and made a wish.
