right and wrong

There's a thin fragile line that separates right and wrong

we walk it carelessly tipping from side to side

Is there really a happy medium, this line we imagine,

Or are we only fooling ourselves?

Can one walk with one foot in both sides?

Or, if this line we imagine to be our safe haven

can we walk it without free falling over the edge?

There's no turning back once you've fallen

only, free falling, forced to look forward

gravity pulling you with all it's force

pulling you from the solid ground you once had

And once you've hit the bottom you realize

there was no thin fragile line, only the edge of a cliff

you saw the edge of everything secure and familiar

and you danced with your overwhelming curiosity

walked the edge so carelessly, and now you see

You're at the bottom, torn and broken, but you're still alive

you see that edge so clearly now. It looks so far above head

but it's not impossible to climb back to the surface

walk on the right side again, and keep away from that edge

It's so enticing, but hindsight is 20/20.

You know so well what lies beyond that edge.

It's so enticing, but you've got your scars to remind you.
