its one of those days
when this doesnt feel like home
this town isnt it
i feel so alone

im a city girl at heart
the country just doesnt cut it
i need noise, cars, and sirens
or i think ill lose it

we played outside
until we couldnt see
i ran and laughed
and i climbed up trees

there was no grass
no farms no dirt
it was all concrete
and i always got hurt

my signature line was
"im okay!"
because i would fall and skin my knee
at least 20 times a day

i remember those times
when scars were accidental
then i moved here
now im pretty much mental

but where would i be now
if i didnt have these friends?

you guys are my world
and thats the truth
still i cant help but miss
the friends from my youth

jackie, melissa, antionette
i wont ever forget you guys
you were my first best friends

now its time for me to move on
im not ever going back
but ill still have these memories
and ill miss the things my life lacks

eventually the memories will fade
and new ones will be in their places
of new laughs new tears
