Heath Ledger

HEATH LEDGER

Hollywood, are you happy now,

Now that another has taken his bow,

To ideals, standards and rules you plow,

In your slave, the media?

Does anything ever matter to you,

Except that our asses are tight as glue,

And our faces are always a perfect hue,

Or are you just that superficial?

Character and truth you put in a cage.

They are disguised on your magazine page.

But they really do matter in the day to day,

Despite your counterfeit notions.

You are a poison to our creed.

With your glib ideas this nation bleeds,

By believing we must obey your deeds,

Or else be rejected.

Well I have something to say to you.

I see you well and I see you true.

I will not follow the rules that you drew.

Your wave will never drown me.

I refuse to feel like less of a creature,

Taking refuge in pills or changing my feature,

Because I can't fit into your little beaker,

Of what this world should be.

Heath Ledger was drawn into your trap,

While trying to embody your given map,

Living in your beaker, like collected sap,

Until he choked from the pressure.

So I ask again with a bellicose tone,

Why must you continue your nonsense drone?

Why put emphasis were it shouldn't go,

Like on faces and jewels instead of the soul?

I cannot stop you and that's for certain

But I know the story behind this curtain

And Hollywood, are you happy now?
