The Old Ones Make Me Laugh

Views (162) Lyric Created on 12-19-06 Flag

I love it in the morning
as they walk into the store.
They all seem to have just woken up
because they all look dirty and poor.

They go to buy their yogurt
at eight o'clock in the morn',
Some use a whole damn shopping cart
to buy just one, single ear of corn.

If they think the price is wrong
they argue yet smile with glee,
and the only reason they do this
is because they just want it for free.

I love it when they pay
with their stupid credit cards,
these people are so dumb
they make it so damn hard

I hate when they talk to me,
they've nothing good to say
and I'll always remember that look on their face
when it comes time for them to pay.

My all-time favorite line
is obviously Express, but
can't they read the damn sign
that says "10 Items Or Less"?

The coupons that they give us,
they aren't worth shit.
And when we throw them away,
they bitch and throw a fit.

When they steal the paper bags
they think they are so slick.
It's funny, because they think you aren't looking
and they try to do it quick.

They always blame the baggers
for the scratches on their cars.
Well, they've got something up their ass
and it's in a little bit too far.

They always yell at baggers
saying they never do it right.
They want double paper in plastic
and it BETTER be very light.

These people are such slobs
more dirty than a whore.
You can tell exactly where they ate
because there's food all over the floor.

To each other, they are so rude.
They haven't an ounce of class.
Should someone cut in line,
they reply with "Hey, kiss my ass!!!"

They always return some nasty things
like milk thats two weeks old.
They will even try to bring back
ice-cream that isn't even cold.

They always walk around
like it's a free sample fair.
They eat half of something here
and leave the other half over there.

One thing that amazes me,
and is a cliché to sight.
Why are old people here,
ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT??

inevitable82 I acquired my first job at the age of sixteen working for Publix Supermarkets. I only worked there for three years but this poem defines the frustration I felt working there. I composed this poem while I was working there and not only shared it with my fellow employees, I also voluntarily posted it in the break room. Of course, that was until the store manager took it down and had a little chat with me. Enjoy!
