Puzzling Questions of the Heart and Mind |
Puzzling Questions of the Heart and Mind
I sit and wonder why I’ve never felt this before
Just the way I’ve felt for so long… times 52.
Like the foolish girl, I long for more
And bear this burden I’d never bore
Or even known before I met you.
Can I tell one thing to you, my love?
Vicariously, I’m living this love through her.
Often times, you come around, and I get a high from above
Every time, though, that seems not enough.
Be God willing, I’m worthy of: how oft does a "you and me" occur?
Help me understand, great man.
Please enlighten me.
Every time I think we’re okay to stand,
"Let me, please, just hold your hand!",
Let’s say your plan and your heart can’t agree.
Each day I must ask myself,
Pleading with my heart all the while,
About which organ to you does me impel
Most certainly implying that I know Hell,
So something (as well) must admit it’s beguiled…
Everything concerning us,
Everything concerning me.
