THE VOICES INSIDE

Why is this life so complicated

thoughts and emotions are dictated

By a man that no longer holds my heart

Was it all a mistake from the start

Words pounding with a force so strong

When did this start to go so wrong

All I ever wanted was your attention

But living this life wasn’t your intention

Stuck in this skin that’s starting to fade

In an ocean of misery we seem to wade

And You’re so clueless to how I feel

Denying and pretending that it isn’t real

How I feel is what I want you to know

All the things I keep inside and don’t show

The things that fill my heart and soul

All the things that grab and take control

And the voices inside that forever scream

Always reminding me this isn’t a dream

And I want the pain to end; to cease

So that I may again lay my head in peace
