The living regret

The hands of the clock on a wheel of sham tick back,

As I watch the train of memories race down the wrong track,

Like a re-run you watch the things you fear,

A rain drop is nothing to an unwanted salty tear,

Like velcro it pulls you apart and then will re-attach,

If only you could lock it away with a steel cold latch,

It's part of you and you will never forget,

Something intangible yet something you've met,

Meet, my dear, the living regret!
