Elegy of the Darkness |
The lone wolf II
Months go by for the lone wolf.
He has accepted his fate.
And the hope that was once there has burned out.
He knows he cannot change there minds about him.
He knows he can not move mountains.
The only thing this lone wolf has control over.
Is himself.
The body.
The action.
The role he plays.
He has tried to fight this before.
Now it is very clear to him.
He can not blame himself.
Or others for his misfortune.
He can only push on.
And define himself through his actions alone.
So the lone wolf does push on.
Still lonely.
Still very much alone.
But he knows more about himself.
And he has more of a reason to move on.
And find a meaning of his life.
Or to any life at all.

wow. that's really a neat poem. It's funny that you refer to a wolf. I went through a similar experience recently and read this book "women who dance run with the wolves." It was about letting out your wildish nature and your inner wolf. I must say I feel more alive less suppressed. You are a wonderful writer:) |
