Mosh

My head is banging
to the rumble
that is raping my ear drums
my elbows are lashing out
like hissing pythons - eager for the kill
my legs are lunging
between the bodies and throught thick air
sweeat is a sweet nectar
radiating from our skin
poisoning each other's lungs
Momentum compels my body one direction
while a shoulder
careens me in the opposite path
my neck whips
so that my body is kept with my head
Four giants loom
as a wall to block our chaos
and they push me back into the fray
where the flesh is methodically thrashing
to the rthym of
the stage's song
I am screaming and relieving
My veins are pulsing violence
My throat is erupting flames
Doused free of self consciousness
liberated in the
confined space of living, breathing human energy
