You didn't know
What that night would do to me,
That things would go so wrong,
The damage you would do.
You couldn't see this coming
When you left without a word.

I've been without you for over half my life.
Now here I am ten years later.
I'm not you're little girl anymore, Daddy.
I've made some bad choices in these ten years.
But no one's perfect.

So here I am,
Sitting in this dark alley
In the middle of the night,
The cold barrel of a pistol
Pressed against my head.
All this just to forget.

He pulls the trigger.
My life pours crimson memories onto the street.
This is what you promised me that night.

What a waste.
