Winter

Views (141) Pain Created on 12-27-06 Flag

Winter stills my aching soul.

The wind is in my hair.

About me stirs a bitter drift.

I lost the path somewhere.

Given to a frozen night.

My legs can barely move.

I’ve thought my thoughts, fading now.

Was there something I hoped to prove?

Caustic, burning, my heart alight.

I fall into the night.

Cradled, deathly in the white.

My flaring soul so bright.

The shining lights bombard my eyes.

Just barely can I see.

Into a truth, a bitter lie.

Oh please god set me free.

Are these the marks of angel’s tears?

Streaming down my face?

Or am I lost in fevered dreams?

Just wishing on some grace.

The cold has taken hold of me.

Slowing down my heart.

The beating drops to whispered sighs.

My spirit torn apart.

In fleeting dreams I’ve seen you here.

Have wept in my disgrace.

Without a world to see me fall.

Unlocked from my embrace.
