The Garden
In a chair from the bedroom window
The view was impressive below
The garden below was full of noise
Twisting vines, colour and noise
Wind shoving leaves and branches
Murmurs of discontent answer
Seems they all have a voice of unrest
From above looking down on a sunset
Distance showed the garden was perfect
To the bedroom window
From the garden below
Through the noise invitations rose
From the birds and vines they rose
Out the door and down the stairs
Murmurs of discontent in the air
A gentle step from path to grass
Landed soft cool and fast
Look I heard, she’s here at last
The shadows long and sky turned red
Three steps and through soft skin sped
The first bloody thorn
Dry and hungry it fed

Wow...simple, beautifully written, and very imaginative. I love it! |
