Daddy,
I miss you,
you'll never know how much you meant to me,
I know you didn't mean to hurt me,
I know you only did your best,
I know you got sucked into drugs,
and I know, I know, you were oh such a mess,
I loved you even when you beat me,
I loved you when you screamed at me,
I loved you when all the truth came out,
and I'll always love you regardless of what happened,
cause I've let go and forgiven,
I forgive you for the pain and hurt,
I forgive you for forgetting about me,
I forgive you for not being the father I wanted,
and most of all I forgive you for being dead.

Oh wow! That's so deep!! I love thisone. ~hugs~ I just met my Dad last year. I only spent like a week with him. We haven't really talked since. Long story. I'm glad you could let go of this. It sounds really hard to do that. I don't knw if I'd be able to. This poem is really sad. :( Still amazing writing as always. Smile! |
