is that really me?
the girl who has the family,
that shuts her out at every corner,
who goes out of their way to make her feel unloved?
am I that girl who is so lonely,
who lost her wishes, hopes, and dreams,
who instead turned to dread and despair?
anything the girl will do,
is never enough for anyone,
her mother sets expectaions so high,
that instead she was set below the ground,
could that be me?
am i that girl who is scared and has many fears?
who cries herself to sleep at night,
tucks herself in like a mom,
protects herself like a brother should?
is the girl who makes a noise but is never heard me?
is the girl who screams till she is out of breath,
shaking with anger and frustrations really me?
i ask myself as i look into the mirror,
am i the girl who cries no tears,
bleeds from her heart,
and runs away to hide?
Is that really me?
