Bird Wish

like a sparrow soaring so free,
I wish I could do that and flee,
up so high, carried by the wind,
my wish to be so alive is not a fanciful whim,

above and beyond,
in the twlinkling stars,
moonlight can stream and touch my feathered tipped wings,
or int hte sun,
they can by colored and warmed by its enriching caress,

like a meadowlark's evening song,
I wish I could sing a pure tune forever long,
sweetly, flowing,
    just whispers in the air,
purest in all forms of nature...
   and for all to hear,

like a raven, the protective fiend,
I wish I could a strong and valiant being,
eyes narrowed on the prey,
   fighting battles, to protect mine, so they can stay,
being the fiercest with absolute utmost care,

like a sparrow I will soar,
    carried by the colorful wind,
like a meadowlark I shall sing,
    and be in tune with the world,
and like a raven I will defend,
      fighting on till the end.
