Suicide Song |
Fond Memories
This is our second Christmas without them
But it’s their second Christmas in Heaven
While we’ve been missing them here
They’ve been watching over us from up there
And when we have our bad days, like we all do
They’re crying right along with us, wishing we would stop our tears
They miss us dearly, just as we miss them so
But they have a purpose there, as we have our own
We may not like it, and think it’s not fair
But God wanted them there for a reason, and they know we understand and we’ll dry our tears
When we remember our times with them
We ache in our hearts and always want more and more
They don’t want us to cry, but know it relieves some pain
And today they’re saying to feel free to do so, but also enjoy the day
They want us to be happy here, just as they are there
Because they know we’ll join them sometime, but hopefully not too soon
And we can dream and we can cry
And the whole time we do it, they’ll be here by our side
A silent observer that feels our pain
They’d do anything they could to take it away
This is why we have our happy memories
So that they know at least we have some comfort
In those and in each other
We know they will always be right there, a prayer away
When we think of them, they want us to smile in fond memory
And know they had a good life, and want the same for us
No regrets
No sadness
Just fond memories and a ready smile to brighten each others day
So we can go on our way, and carry on each day
And remember them sweetly, even knowing we must stay
God doesn’t want us yet, but someday it’ll be our turn
They’ll be waiting right there next to Him for us
And they’ll all say, “We welcome you back home today.”
