I am a little girl who dreams of Peter Pan

You are little boy who dreams of Superman

We were friends remember how we used to play

Together in recess not minding others’ talk

 

I am ten years old and dream of Peter Pan

You are eleven and hope to be like Superman

We are friends always together we love to stay

At your house or mine fooling around not minding the clock.

 

I am sixteen and still dream of Peter Pan

You are seventeen and have forgotten Superman

We are still friends yet haven’t you heard

Someone is with you now more than you with me

 

I am twenty-two and dream of joining Peter Pan

You are twenty-three and you’re everyone’s man

We have lost sight because I became third

And didn’t want to change unlike her and the baby

 

I am thirty and married to Peter Pan

You are thirty-one and weren’t our best-man

You have forgotten me and never did know

That I loved you on top of all and would’ve cared for Angel

 

I have been gone for thirty years with Peter Pan

You are sixty-five and have been every girls’ man

Yet now you remember and try to look for me, but no

You will not find me you left me long ago at my burial.
