Happy New Year |
Face On the Wall
Times are cold glancing at the face
I hide it well
But between us there's a space
That separates what I am and what he hides
The world on my shoulders
Because I see it in his eyes
All he desires is a little peace
Harmony is a luxury
And it is his release
To see me stand before him
Holding it all in
Being the better one
Because he won't mention
The hate I see in his eyes
The cold that runs through his veins
His depression becomes ice
I see the tears trickle and fall
From the man I see on the wall
We both wish to swap places
My world for his
He becomes the strong face
And I release
It doesn’t suit either of us
To be in the worlds we're in
Just once I'd like to scream
Just once he'd like to stand tall
He wishes to dream
And I wish to be the face on the wall

| I think I wish to be the dreamer instead of the face on the wall. |
