Happy New Year

When the clock stikes twelve

The whole world melds

Into a new year and tells

We survied so ring bells

So loud every one hears it

And knows that know one sits

Taking on crowds of lips

Saying "I'm alive, lets kiss"

Funny, its our way of saying

We're not destroyed, start spraying

The suds a liquor and start champaining

The one day whole world isn't complaining

Cuz deep down we know

How we survied and took hold

The devil again tallied our soul

Another year was the price it sold

I'm not really ranting to rant

Cuz I am greatful, I can't

Not accept life as a remebrant

That life is a gift and no grant

The wars toll and tax

And terrorists continue to act

And the world still attacks

Meaninglessly, and it sad

That we live in a day that sent

Votes to the first black President

Acting like it was a God send

When its just slow progression

On the part of the human race

A people that has fought to face

A sad reality that we look to space

For answers and look up and pray

Looking for answers in medication

Poppin pills just looking for relaxation

When we just find the more we taken

Takes too long to bring us the sedation

And killing the world as one nation

We look for hope as we find seperation

From a future unsure that's sayin

We need a new look, but its frustratin

But I'm glad to be alive

And happy the world still strive

To make it a year and hide

The problems of today inside

No problem too big for us to fear

2009 will begin to adhear

So I'll stop my whining hear

And just say happy New Year
