Lost Cause

I love you so much
But does it have to hurt
Everyday I try
To smile and not cry
I take the full force of your anger
And bury the pain deep inside
You try to hold it back
And not yell the way others do
But it only makes it worse
To hear your calm voice say
"I have nothing to say to you"
We are just a lost cause
Always hoping for the best
And end up getting the worst
