Are You Satisfied?

by, Holly Soresso

You invaded my wall that I have built

those bricks of deceit cemented by guilt.

They crumbled down exposing my heart

to the cold whispers of betrayal.

You've eaten away at my soul,

and yet you're still not satisfied.

I cannot bare to look at your face

all I see is a core of disgust with lies of disgrace.

Dare to step a little further

only make the flames within your heart a little hotter

and so, you're still not satisfied?

I'm surprised you haven't been fill up with all you've lied.

You consumed my well being, my strength, and will

I've given this battle, that is up hill,

my blood of hope and bitter tears

to fill up this void, drowning my fears.

One has a tightly locked door.

Within it reveals hypocrisy, lies, and more.

And I hold the truthful key.

The other is intoxicated with ignorance.

Turn you head from reality;

convince yourself you have mature vitality.

And so I will ask once again,

are you finally satisfied?

Isn't this enough, why can't you let it be?

Your friend for years, and now I plea.

What more do you want?

I've given it my all,

and as I climb, I only fall

into my loathsome darkness.
