Wet Eyelashes
Wet eyelashes
By, Holly Soresso (me!)
Wet eyelashes press against my pillow
Everything rolled into tears
How does loneliness seek me, as it is my greatest of fears
Wet eyelashes sparkle in the bitter night
How can I be on a separate page?
While others act a different age
Wet eyelashes plead for ignorance
Its knowing nothing that makes things better.
Trying to reason, trying to work, but my lashes still get wetter.
Wet eyelashes start to freeze,
My resentment nestles with me
What blinds you to not to see?
Wet eyelashes press against my pillow
My heart throbs with each beat
Wondering why I cannot move,
And how I’ve let you defeat.
